Biography

From an early age, Erin Allison knew she wanted a life that revolved around horses. She began riding at the age of seven. Like any Texan, she initially started riding western and going to barrel races with her first horse Patches in the North Texas playdays.

It only took about a year for Erin to decide she wanted to jump. She quickly transitioned into the Hunter/Jumper world learning on a variety of ponies and horses. She worked her way up to competing in A and AA-rated shows throughout the United States with her Holsteiner mare A Bionda CWF (Mouse). Erin competed in the Junior Hunters, Big Equitation, Amateur Owner Hunters, as well as campaigning in the National and International derbies before Mouse retired due to an injury. Erin rode on the Ole Miss Equestrian Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) team and served as the Social Media chair from Fall 2017 to Spring 2018. While in graduate school, Erin worked as a freelance groom at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala. Following the conclusion of the winter circuit, Erin moved to Lexington Kentucky where she worked as a full-time working student at Finally Home Farm. She now spends time working with her homebred warmblood and hopes to eventually get back in the show ring with him some day.

In 2019 Erin graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Sociology, and Neuroscience. She returned to school to obtain her Master of Science degree and graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in the May 2022. After graduating, Erin worked part-time as an assistant trainer at Double L Stables in Argyle Texas. She began her corporate professional career as a Travel Nurse recruiter at AMN Healthcare where she remained for two years. She is currently working on obtaining her Series 7 license to become a financial professional. Erin’s passion for finance as well as her extensive background in horses has motivated her to help others make informed decisions when it comes to buying, selling, and investing in horses.

Erin joined The Equine Expert in October of 2024 as an Administrative Assistant and Legal Services Researcher. In February of 2025 she became an accredited Equine Appraiser with the American Society of Equine Appraisers. She is working towards her Senior Appraiser status providing equine appraisals for donations through ValueMyHorse LLC. She also does contract audit work for Validox Commercial Real Estate.
